William Peacock died from wounds on 22nd December, 1914, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 1st Royal Berkshire battalion was part of 6 Brigade, 2nd Division that had arrived in France at the beginning of the war and had been involved in much of the fighting on the Western Front in 1914.
